About this plugin
Wavesynth Pitch Black stands as Karanyi Sound's aggressive counterpart to their foundational Wavesynth, purpose-built for producers working across modern electronic and experimental genres. The plugin leverages a sophisticated waveshaper engine capable of transforming source material into heavily saturated, textural territory - essential for contemporary techno, industrial, and noise-oriented production.
The technical architecture centers on 14 wavetable algorithms paired with dedicated amp and wavetable envelopes, providing granular control over harmonic evolution and timbral character. A dual-LFO configuration manages wavetable position modulation and resonant filter sweeps via a Moog-style low pass filter, while a separate Prophet-type filter adds tonal shaping options. This layered approach grants the kind of deep sound design flexibility typically associated with hardware synthesizers.

Built-in effects - dimension, tape delay, and hall reverb - integrate cleanly without dominating the signal chain. The master section includes compression and limiting alongside parametric EQ, allowing for both aggressive loudness control and surgical frequency management. The ROLL randomizer accelerates patch development by generating musically coherent variations rather than purely chaotic results.
The 50+ included presets demonstrate clear bass-heavy leanings while maintaining sonic variety across drum synthesis, pad design, and percussive sources. Sample content derives from high-resolution sources (96kHz, 24-bit originals), preserved at standard resolution for plugin deployment.
Wavesynth Pitch Black addresses a specific niche - producers requiring aggressive sound design tools with studio-grade fidelity. Its abundance of MIDI-learnable parameters and intuitive interface make it accessible despite considerable technical depth, positioning it as a legitimate alternative to more specialized waveshaping platforms.
