About this plugin
Polyscape 2 stands as a focused instrument for producers seeking orchestral texture with contemporary processing. Built on Karanyi Sounds' Kontakt engine, it combines four primary sound modules with a dedicated sub synth layer, all sourced from acoustic string recordings that have been routed through Eurorack modular effects chains. This hybrid approach yields dense, organic pads that retain acoustic character despite aggressive processing.
The sonic palette derives from 18 newly recorded instrumental sources, shaped by 80 artist presets developed in collaboration with Alessandro Mastroianni. The results skew toward cinematic applications - think Zimmer's approach to orchestral processing or Johannsson's textural minimalism - though the tool functions equally well in electronic music contexts where granular, modulated strings provide atmospheric depth.

The interface reflects a clear design philosophy: four onscreen controls manage the core sound modules, while advanced users access 160+ parameters including Prophet-style filters, tape and analogue delays, and convolution reverbs. A Smart Random function allows single-click sound generation across these controls, useful for discovery without overwhelming menu diving.
Technically, the plugin excels where producers need fast iteration through complex timbral territory. The modular architecture encourages blending disparate source materials into cohesive soundscapes. MIDI-learnable parameters enable real-time expression across any control surface.
Polyscape 2 occupies a specific niche: it's neither a string sample library nor a pure synthesizer, but a processed orchestral texture tool. Best suited for film composers, electronic producers, and sound designers comfortable with abstract starting points, it delivers professional-grade results without requiring deep synthesis knowledge.
