About this plugin
The Wood Snare Collection represents a pragmatic solution to a persistent production problem: drum sample libraries typically force you toward either heavily processed sounds that resist customization or raw recordings that demand extensive post-processing. Just Add Drums sidesteps this compromise by pairing processed, mix-ready hits with clean raw versions for every sample, allowing you to blend them directly within Slate Trigger 2.
The collection comprises 28,000+ samples drawn from ten quality wood snare drums across three tuning variations each, delivering sixty distinct tonal characters. With six velocity layers and eight round robins per configuration, the library captures the nuance necessary for realistic humanization. Whether you're seeking punch-forward aggression, warm resonance, crisp crack, or body-heavy thump, the range of included drums accommodates multiple production aesthetics without requiring external processing chains.

The dual-version approach matters practically. Rather than printing aggressive compression and EQ that become liabilities in certain contexts, you control the balance between character and flexibility in real time. The inclusion of nine TCIs per snare provides versatile trigger presets that integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, while 270 total presets demonstrate the sonic breadth achievable from this material.
This collection serves experienced producers and engineers who value sonic flexibility and already work within the Slate Trigger 2 ecosystem. It's most valuable for those juggling multiple production styles or clients with varying aesthetic preferences. However, it requires Trigger 2's full version, not the free iteration, which may limit accessibility for budget-conscious operators.
