About this plugin
Just Add Djent Drums is a Kontakt instrument engineered specifically for contemporary metal production, addressing a real gap in sample-based drum programming for the genre. The pack centers on a methodically processed drum kit: a low-frequency kick designed to maintain definition beneath saturated guitar layers, articulate toms with natural decay characteristics, and a snare with sufficient presence to cut through dense polyrhythmic arrangements. All sounds arrive fully treated, eliminating the preprocessing work typically required when adapting general-purpose drum samples to metal contexts.
The instrument operates as a hybrid: a streamlined master section facilitates rapid workflow decisions, while deeper architecture allows microphone-level control across kick, snare, toms, and cymbals. This dual approach suits both fast songwriting sessions and meticulous mix refinement. The articulation set extends beyond basic hits, including choke variations, rimshots, and multiple cymbal captures (ride, crash, china, splash) in both struck and half-open states. MIDI mapping implementation is noted as forthcoming.

Just Add Djent Drums occupies a practical position within metal drum libraries. It forgoes aesthetic pretension, instead prioritizing functional versatility: the samples integrate readily into aggressive contexts without requiring extensive EQ intervention, and the microphone routing system provides legitimate tonal flexibility without overwhelming the interface. The four included presets serve as viable starting points rather than finished aesthetic statements.
For producers working within djent, progressive metal, or metalcore frameworks, this instrument represents a time-efficient alternative to mining through generic drum packs or constructing custom kits from scratch. The sonic signature proves notably useful for maintaining punch across complex instrumental arrangements where conventional drum sounds collapse into the mix.
