About this plugin
Jazz Guitar Octaves is a meticulously sampled Kontakt library that captures the harmonic and textural essence of jazz guitar octaves, a foundational technique in bebop and post-bop vocabulary. Recorded through a classic jazz amplifier with close-miked string capture, the instrument delivers both the amplified warmth and acoustic articulation that define the idiom. The dual microphone approach allows producers to blend between amp character and raw string detail, offering genuine flexibility in shaping tone without relying on post-processing guesswork.
The library provides two playing styles - thumb and pick - each capturing the subtle tonal and dynamic differences inherent to these techniques. Four NKI instruments accommodate both comprehensive and streamlined workflows, with the PLAY versions offering essential articulations for rapid composition and the FULL versions providing deeper sonic exploration through intuitive keyswitching.

Jazz Guitar Octaves suits producers and composers working across jazz, soul, funk, and contemporary music who require authentic harmonic textures beyond what standard guitar libraries provide. The octave voicing specifically addresses a sonic gap in many sample collections, delivering the singing, voiced quality that distinguished players from Wes Montgomery through modern practitioners.
With 6,486 samples spanning multiple articulations and dynamics, the library prioritizes authenticity over breadth. This focused approach reflects a philosophy common among respected sample developers: depth within a defined sonic palette outperforms shallow coverage across multiple instruments. For engineers accustomed to programming jazz arrangements or seeking convincing harmonic layers beneath live horn sections, this instrument provides a technically sound and musically intelligent solution.
