GRFX is a granular effects processor from Imaginando that prioritizes sonic experimentation without sacrificing workflow clarity. Unlike granular synthesizers that generate sound from scratch, GRFX deconstructs incoming audio into up to 50 simultaneous grains, then reconstructs them through harmonic transposition, effects processing, and modulation. This approach yields distinctive textures ranging from subtle harmonic enrichment to abstract, deconstructed soundscapes.

The Harmonic Triangle is the plugin's defining feature - an interactive probability-based interface that distributes grains across three user-defined pitch values. This three-way transposition can operate with discrete notes or continuous microtonal frequencies, making it equally useful for tight harmonic thickening and exploratory sound design. The implementation sidesteps the menu diving typical of competing tools.

Signal routing flexibility distinguishes GRFX from simpler granular effects. Grains route probabilistically to either a two-slot multi-effects section or directly to the mixer, with separate send controls for delay and reverb.
