About this plugin
The Metal Unlimited Raw Pack extends Hertz Drums with a purpose-built library for heavy music production. Unlike processed drum libraries that impose sonic constraints, this expansion delivers unprocessed samples with meaningful customization potential. The core distinction lies in its dual-layer approach: raw drum recordings paired with isolated transient samples that users can blend via a dedicated FX fader, allowing independent control over body and attack characteristics.
The library organizes into three banks reflecting different workflow preferences. The Basic presets provide pure, uncolored drum recordings suitable for engineers who prefer mixing with their own signal chain. Metal presets combine raw samples with transient layering for aggressive, punchy sounds optimized for dense arrangements. Snap presets isolate transient material specifically, functioning as supplementary punch sources that can enhance existing drum recordings without resorting to heavy dynamic processing.

The kit encompasses five kick drums with varied tonal profiles (Classic, Absolute, and Maple variants), addressing the tonal range needed across metal subgenres. Each instrument includes three matched FX samples, enabling creative combinations without sonic inconsistency.
This approach addresses a genuine workflow problem in metal production: achieving clarity and punch in dense mixes without relying on excessive compression. By separating transient layers from fundamental drum tone, engineers gain precise control over mix balance. The Raw Pack proves particularly valuable for those working with real drums or other virtual instruments that lack adequate attack definition.
For metal producers and sound engineers seeking customizable, unprocessed drum material with strategic transient control, this expansion delivers practical sonic tools rather than stylistic templates.
