About this plugin
NOVO Essentials distills Heavyocity's modern strings library into a streamlined toolkit designed for rapid orchestral composition and sound design. The plugin centers on a 44-piece ensemble recorded across multiple articulation types - long sustain, tremolo, staccato, and pizzicato - each available in mixed, close, room, and hall perspectives. This microphone positioning strategy proves invaluable for adjusting spatial character without external convolution, particularly useful in mixing contexts where ensemble bleed or reflective character needs adjustment on the fly.
The String Designer section operates as a three-channel spectral browser, allowing users to sculpt timbral characteristics across frequency bands while maintaining harmonic integrity. The String Loop Designer extends this concept into rhythmic territory, offering 36 pre-composed loops organized by register and genre application - ambient, motif, and rhythmic categories that function as compositional scaffolding rather than rigid loops.

What distinguishes NOVO Essentials from broader orchestral sample libraries is its deliberate curation toward contemporary cinematic work. The processed category, including atmospheric, distorted, and synth-derived sources, acknowledges that modern film and television scoring demands hybrid timbral territory between traditional and electronic domains. The CYCLE page grants granular control over sustain and rhythmic modulation, enabling microtonal and textural exploration beyond conventional orchestral playing techniques.
Best suited for composers working within deadline constraints, television composers, and sound designers who prioritize workflow efficiency over comprehensive articulation depth, NOVO Essentials maintains sonic legitimacy while sacrificing the exhaustive articulation libraries characteristic of flagship orchestral tools. Its 10.02 GB footprint positions it as a practical auxiliary to larger sample collections rather than a primary orchestral resource.
