About this plugin
Harrison Consoles has translated the signal processing architecture of its Motion Picture Console into plugin form with the MPC Channel Strip, a six-module mixing suite designed specifically for post-production workflows. The plugin brings professional-grade tools previously confined to high-end film studios into the DAW environment without compromising on sonic quality or CPU efficiency.
The strip comprises a denoiser, de-esser, parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, and output stage - each module drawing on Harrison's DSP library built over decades of console design. The denoiser operates as a frequency-selective expander optimized for dialogue, with fixed crossovers targeting the human voice range and intelligent envelope detection that responds to speech patterns rather than generic signal dynamics. The de-esser uses the company's proprietary algorithm for sibilance control, offering graphic control over both frequency and bandwidth through interactive band markers.

The architecture allows full signal flow customization and parameter automation throughout, while the unified monitoring window displays all processing stages simultaneously for transparent workflow management. Harrison engineered the plugin to handle hundreds of instances in large-scale sessions without performance degradation, making it genuinely viable for feature film and television post-production.
The MPC Channel Strip occupies a specific niche: dialogue cleanup and mix preparation for post-production professionals. While the individual algorithms aren't radical departures from industry standards, their tuning for speech material and their proven lineage from working film consoles give them credibility that generalist channel strips lack. For dialogue-heavy projects, this plugin delivers measurable value.
