About this plugin
Future Audio Workshop's Crushed II pack delivers 15 heavily processed 808 samples that prioritize aggressive compression and distortion over pristine low-end clarity. This is a specialized collection for producers working in trap, hip-hop, and industrial electronic music where deliberate sonic degradation serves the aesthetic rather than undermining it.
The patches reflect FAW's signature design philosophy: extreme dynamic control paired with strategic harmonic saturation. Samples like Sicko Mode and Wreck showcase how aggressive compression can collapse transients into thick, molten textures, while Granite and Slab demonstrate the pack's focus on concrete, almost rigid low-frequency character. The naming convention hints at the processing approach - Petrol and Glass suggest resonant, buzzy artifacts that emerge from heavy compression, while Pushing Weight indicates the pack's emphasis on perceived loudness through dynamics flattening rather than peak amplification.

This pack works best as a creative tool rather than a neutral foundation. Designers and sound designers accustomed to subtractive, additive, or granular synthesis will find value in deconstructing how compression shapes spectral content. The collection suits producers already familiar with SubLab's framework, as NKS integration allows seamless browser navigation and parameter mapping across Maschine and Komplete Kontrol ecosystems.
Compared to clinical 808 libraries, Crushed II abandons the pursuit of translatable low-end in favor of character-driven sounds. It occupies a specific creative space, best suited for engineers who understand that intentional distortion and compression artifacts are often more musically compelling than pristine samples. For producers seeking aggressive, distinctive bass textures with built-in character, this collection delivers consistent, usable results.
