About this plugin
Ugritone's Faster & Louder Drums is a comprehensive drum sample library designed specifically for metal and punk production, capturing the aggressive sonic character these genres demand. The collection draws from sessions at Mercenary Studios in Ohio and benefits from the sonic expertise of Noah Buchanan (Nunslaughter) and Vanik (Midnight), two respected figures in underground metal.
The library comprises five kick drums spanning Pearl, Gretsch, Slingerland, and Ludwig hardware, nine snares with notably different tonal characteristics, and tom sets organized by kit family. The cymbal selection focuses on Paiste's darker, more articulate models - the 900 Series, Rude, and Giant Beat lines - which cut through dense mixes without excessive brightness. This curated approach reflects a clear understanding of how these genres traditionally sit in the frequency spectrum.

What distinguishes this library from broader drum collections is its deliberate sonic focus. Rather than chasing versatility, the samples embrace the compressed, punchy character essential to heavy music. The included presets - titled after recognizable subgenres like grindcore, hardcore, and traditional metal styles - provide useful starting points, though experienced engineers will likely customize extensively.
At approximately 1GB, the download size is modest relative to content depth. This library works best for producers already committed to metal or punk aesthetics. Engineers seeking drum sounds compatible with modern R&B, pop, or jazz production should look elsewhere. For those working within its intended genres, Faster & Louder Drums delivers authentic, professionally recorded material that captures the raw power defining classic heavy music.
