About this plugin
Temperance Pro represents a genuinely novel approach to reverb design by applying harmonic analysis to spatial processing. Rather than treating reverberation as a neutral acoustic phenomenon, this plugin operates on the 12-note chromatic scale to selectively emphasize or attenuate specific pitches within the reverb tail. The concept proves particularly effective for maintaining vocal intelligibility, controlling muddiness in dense mixes, or deliberately shaping harmonic relationships within space.
The upgrade from Temperance Lite expands the control architecture substantially. The Temper and Range parameters adjust emphasis levels and octave targeting, while Target selection lets you apply processing to early reflections, late reverb, or both. Note Width controls spectral spread, moving from tight, focused results to chorused, dispersed textures. The three note selection modes - Manual, Sequencer, and MIDI - determine which pitches receive tempering. Manual mode provides click-based note selection with instant scale highlighting. Sequencer mode transforms reverb into a compositional element by automating note changes, while MIDI mode enables real-time control via external hardware.

This upgrade suits mixing engineers working with vocal-heavy material, producers seeking harmonic control in electronic production, and sound designers exploring unconventional reverb textures. The 29 included spaces are modal-based rather than convolution-derived, ensuring consistency across the temperament system. Among modal reverbs and specialty processors, Temperance Pro occupies a distinctive position - technically rigorous yet immediately musical, addressing both practical mixing concerns and creative sound design possibilities.
