About this plugin
Blackhole Immersive brings Eventide's acclaimed reverb algorithm into the spatial audio domain, offering serious tools for mixing in Dolby Atmos and surround formats. Built specifically for immersive workflows rather than adapted from stereo, the plugin handles LCR, quadraphonic, and up to 7.1.4 channel layouts with dedicated control over front, top, and rear speaker imaging.
The core strength lies in its reverb character - the same lush, characterful decay that defined the original Blackhole, now deployed across an immersive field. Parameters like Gravity, Size, and Feedback remain intuitive to adjust, while new tools like independent EQ per speaker group and Crossfeed allow precise spatial sculpting. This means you can dial in subtle ambient enhancement or create genuinely unsettling spatial effects depending on your needs, whether that's music mastering or sound design work.

The interface avoids overwhelming immersive complexity without oversimplifying the task. Morphing between two settings helps with dynamic sound design, making this plugin equally viable for music production and post-production contexts.
Strategically, Blackhole Immersive arrives as spatial audio support expands across streaming platforms (Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music) and video services (Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney+). For engineers working on Atmos music releases or immersive game audio, this removes the need to audition stereo reverb approximations and guess spatial behavior.
The plugin occupies a relatively uncrowded space - few reverbs offer this level of immersive-first design philosophy. It's essential for serious Atmos work and highly valuable for any facility moving into spatial audio production.
