About this plugin
Spaces II represents the logical evolution of convolution reverb design, building on the original Spaces' foundation with over 1,020 impulse responses captured across diverse acoustic environments worldwide. The plugin's core strength lies in its breadth: churches, concert halls, opera houses, catacombs, train stations, studios, and plate reverbs provide sonic territory that ranges from intimate and surgical to expansive and characterful. Unlike algorithmic reverbs, convolution technology captures the complete acoustic signature of real spaces, making Spaces II particularly valuable for mixing work that demands authenticity or for sound design requiring specific spatial character.
The streamlined interface prioritizes workflow efficiency. Rather than burying controls behind menus, the redesigned UI places essential parameters within immediate reach, allowing rapid auditioning and parameter adjustment without the latency that plagued earlier convolution reverb implementations. This responsiveness is crucial in modern production environments where CPU efficiency and real-time creativity are inseparable.

Spaces II appeals primarily to mixing engineers and producers working across genres where spatial authenticity matters - from orchestral and classical work to contemporary music requiring distinctive reverb color. The 353 new presets expand creative possibilities beyond the original library, though the inclusion of all legacy reverbs ensures backward compatibility and extensive sonic options.
Among convolution reverb competitors, Spaces II's combination of preset quantity, intuitive interface, and genuine impulse response quality maintains its position as a market leader. The MusicTech Excellence Award validates this standing, though the real test remains in daily mixing sessions where its responsiveness and sonic versatility justify its place in professional workflows.
