About this plugin
Hollywood Fantasy Orchestrator represents EastWest's most ambitious real-time composition engine to date. Built in collaboration with Sonuscore, this plugin functions less as a traditional instrument and more as an intelligent orchestration assistant, leveraging machine learning-driven voice leading to convert single-hand chord input into full orchestral arrangements across five instrumental sections: strings, brass, winds, percussion, and voices.
The plugin's core strength lies in its Scoring Engine, which interprets MIDI performance data and generates contextually appropriate voicings in real time. Four preset categories - Ensembles, Ostinatos, Scores, and user-created combinations - provide entry points for composers at various skill levels. The ostinato mode proves particularly valuable for film work, generating rhythmic foundations in multiple meters that adapt to harmonic input. A recent update adds a dedicated Voices section featuring Merethe Soltvedt's solo vocal performances alongside full choir arrangements, expanding textural possibilities significantly.

This tool assumes users already own the underlying Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra sample libraries across all five installments, making it a complementary product rather than a standalone solution. The interface demands minimal learning curve compared to traditional orchestration plugins, trading granular parameter control for immediate musical results. That trade-off positions it squarely toward film and game composers working under deadline pressure rather than those seeking deep sample manipulation.
Sonically, the orchestrations lean toward lush, Hollywood-inflected fantasy scoring without sacrificing ensemble coherence or articulation clarity. For composers seeking rapid mock-ups or inspiration during early writing stages, it delivers meaningful value. For those requiring complete orchestral control, it functions better as a sketching tool than a final mixing destination.
