About this plugin
Hollywood Choirs Diamond represents the most comprehensive sampled choir instrument available for contemporary production work. Developed by EastWest Sounds and produced by Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix, the plugin delivers a 59 GB library of 24-bit samples recorded with a 13-microphone setup that captures choir recordings across Main, Close, Stage, Mid, and Surround channels. This multi-mic architecture provides genuine flexibility for placing vocal textures within a spatial context rather than relying on standard reverb treatments.
The core strength lies in dynamic control. Users can shape choir articulations from intimate, lyrical passages to massive, orchestral swells without resorting to layering or external processing. The integrated WordBuilder 2 engine allows real-time phonetic manipulation, enabling you to input custom lyrics and hear them performed with natural phrasing and vowel formation. This transcends simple sample playback and approaches the territory of true synthesis for vocal content.

The Diamond Edition includes comprehensive keyswitching functionality and dozens of mixer effects designed specifically for choir articulation. Integration within the OPUS ecosystem provides streamlined workflow for users already committed to EastWest's ecosystem, though individual downloads and DAW compatibility remain straightforward.
For film composers and television producers, Hollywood Choirs Diamond has become industry standard. The plugin earned a TEC Award and recognition from Sound on Sound, positions validated by consistent deployment in high-budget productions. It suits any producer seeking detailed vocal control without sacrificing sonic character or requiring extensive layering techniques. The multi-mic approach ensures usability across stereo, surround, and immersive monitoring environments without fundamental character shift.
