About this plugin
EastWest Complete Collection consolidates over four decades of sample library development into a unified plugin ecosystem, offering producers and composers access to orchestral, world, electronic, and modern production instruments without the friction of managing separate licenses or installations. The collection encompasses orchestral foundations like Hollywood Strings 2, Hollywood Brass, and Hollywood Orchestral Woodwinds, established tools that maintain industry relevance through expressive sampling, detailed articulation control, and scoring-stage recording methodology. Fantasy-focused libraries extend the orchestral palette with textural variations designed for supernatural and cinematic applications, while production-oriented tools like DrumX provide algorithmic drum machine emulation and sample manipulation.
The plugin's primary strength lies in its breadth rather than depth. Rather than mastering a single instrument category, Complete Collection serves as a foundational toolkit for media composers, game audio designers, and producers working across multiple genres. The inclusion of Hollywood Orchestrator and Fantasy Orchestrator suggests intelligent preset systems for rapid arrangement generation, though experienced users will likely treat these as starting points rather than finished solutions.

EastWest's sampling approach emphasizes recorded detail and performance nuance over synthesis, which appeals to users prioritizing realistic articulation and dynamic response over sound design flexibility. Sonically, the orchestral libraries present a warm, hall-captured character consistent with film scoring standards, while fantasy instruments skew toward lush, processed textures.
For established professionals, Complete Collection functions as a comprehensive reference library and rapid prototyping tool. The breadth justifies the investment primarily for those working across multiple projects and genres simultaneously, though producers specializing in narrow sonic territories may find individual libraries more practical.
