About this plugin
The CT-STRIP01 consolidates four essential processing stages into a single, cohesive channel strip: gate/expander, compressor, four-band EQ, and saturation. What distinguishes it from broader mixing tools is its deliberate signal architecture and sonic specificity across each module.
The compressor offers genuine circuit modeling with three distinct flavors. The FET circuit prioritizes attack speed down to 20 microseconds, lending forward aggression suitable for drums and bass. The TUBE circuit operates in a slower, grippier character typical of optical designs, while the VCA provides the transparent, summing-friendly response expected on mix buses. Ratio, attack, and release settings transfer across circuits but rescale to each circuit's native time-constant range, a thoughtful design choice that preserves intention while respecting component behavior.

The EQ presents three tonal characters - NOBLE emphasizes musical band interaction, CONSOLE models analog console gain-dependent Q behavior, and PURE maintains symmetric gain and constant-Q response. This approach acknowledges that EQ character extends beyond frequency curves into phase relationships and how adjacent bands influence one another.
The saturation stage differentiates between odd and even harmonic content, with the tilt EQ pivoting at 700 Hz for deliberate low-end emphasis or reduction. Most usefully, saturation enters from the low frequencies upward, progressively coloring material rather than abruptly distorting across all frequencies.
CalPochi provides 28 factory presets plus ten C-TAKEBEATS templates that recall input/output levels, offering practical starting points for common sources. The live spectrum display overlaying the EQ curve supports both analytical work and intuitive adjustments. The CT-STRIP01 serves mixing engineers and production professionals requiring transparent yet characterful processing without unnecessary
