About this plugin
CineHarps stands as one of the most comprehensively sampled orchestral harp libraries available, recorded across three distinct microphone positions at Sony Pictures Studios' MGM Scoring Stage. The library captures plucked articulations, glissandi, and a range of timbral variations with the depth typically reserved for premium orchestral sample collections. What distinguishes CineHarps from competing solutions is its Perspective Mode - a crossfader that allows real-time blending between close, room, and surround microphone perspectives, automatically mapped to the mod wheel. This design choice grants composers genuine control over spatial positioning without requiring multiple instances or cumbersome routing.
The Gliss Mode feature addresses a practical limitation in harp sampling: it intelligently transposes white keys according to selected pedal diagrams, enabling authentic glissandi performance without tedious manual note entry. The system softens attack transients on faster passages, a sophisticated approach that acknowledges how naturally played glissandi behave acoustically.

Running on Native Instruments' free Kontakt Player, CineHarps integrates seamlessly into any DAW without additional software purchases or licensing complications. This accessibility has made it a standard choice for composers working in orchestral and hybrid scoring contexts.
The library excels for projects demanding both classical harp authenticity and sound design flexibility. While other harp libraries offer competitive sampling, CineHarps' combination of multiple mic perspectives, intuitive glissandi implementation, and production-ready effects architecture positions it as a logical choice for working composers who require depth without workflow friction. The MusicTech 10/10 rating reflects legitimate technical achievement rather than marketing momentum.
