About this plugin
The Year Two Collection represents a comprehensive expansion of Voltage Modular's capabilities, assembling 15 modules developed during the platform's second year of releases. This collection functions as a modular synthesis toolkit rather than a traditional effects plugin, requiring Voltage Modular as a host environment. The standout inclusion is Polymode, a direct homage to the Polymoog that prioritizes lush pad synthesis and string textures through its distinctive multi-filter architecture and flexible modulation routing.
The collection's strength lies in its cohesive vintage reimplementation strategy. SynthVoice delivers a faithful ARP 2600 emulation with dual oscillators, multi-mode filtering, and integrated spring reverb, while the DCO-60 captures the Juno-106's character down to its self-oscillating filter and analog chorus behavior. These modules work equally well as standalone instruments or as building blocks within larger patches, providing experienced sound designers with substantial creative flexibility.

The supporting modules - including dedicated filter modules (SynthVoice Filter, VCF-60), modulation sources (EG Station, AirStep, FM Station), and effects (Chorus-60) - address specific sonic territories. The AirWave and AirVector modules extend capabilities into wavetable and vector synthesis domains, while the polyphonic variants enable chord-based composition within modular constraints.
This collection appeals primarily to producers already committed to modular synthesis workflows or those seeking authentic vintage-style oscillator and filter behavior without sacrificing deep patchability. Its comprehensive scope makes it a valuable investment for Voltage Modular users prioritizing classic analog aesthetics and straightforward vintage synthesis rather than cutting-edge digital processing.
