About this plugin
Cherry Audio's Year One Collection represents a comprehensive foundation for modular synthesis within Voltage Modular, bundling 19 modules that established the platform's sonic identity during its inaugural release cycle. The collection spans essential synthesis categories: four oscillator sources (Additive, Mega Saw, TB Oscillator, VCO-20 Dual Oscillator) provide versatile waveform generation, while three filter modules (Lyrinx, TB Filter, VCF-20) offer complementary tonal shaping from smooth to aggressive character. The Sampler II adds sample-based sound design capabilities alongside traditional synthesis.
Processing depth comes through the ESP-20 Processor, Vocoder, Vintage Resonator, and Hex Phaser, enabling everything from spectral manipulation to modulation-heavy texturing. Sequencing and control features include the Octagon and Sixteen-Step Sequencers for rhythmic organization, plus the MPE Interface for expressive performance control. Utilities round out the collection: Random Task and Remote Control support modulation and parameter mapping, while the Voltage-Controlled Mixer and Stereo Delay handle mixing and spatial effects.

The Year One Collection suits producers and engineers seeking a self-contained modular ecosystem without purchasing modules individually. Rather than pioneering sonic territory, these modules execute fundamental synthesis tasks with sonic clarity and intuitive workflow. The collection's strength lies in architectural coherence - modules integrate seamlessly within Voltage Modular's environment, making it an efficient entry point into modular sound design. Experienced patch designers may find selections limited compared to specialized third-party modules, but for comprehensive foundational capability, this collection delivers genuine utility and sonic reliability.
