About this plugin
The PSP Classics Modular Collection brings a curated selection of the Czech developer's most essential effect algorithms into Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular environment. These aren't simplified port jobs; they represent refined versions of PSP's bread-and-butter processors that have appeared in mastering and mixing facilities for two decades.
The reverb section deserves particular attention. Spring, Plate, and Space modules each offer three distinct character variations, allowing you to dial in anything from subtle ambience to pronounced spatial treatment. The spring algorithms capture the transient behavior and frequency coloration of vintage hardware reverb tanks, while the plate and room emulations provide the kind of coherent, musical decay that works equally well on individual tracks or submixes.

The delay module operates as a straightforward but capable digital processor with tape modulation and ping-pong capabilities - useful tools for adding movement or rhythmic interest without straying into overly experimental territory. The chorus and flanger modules are appropriately transparent, with the four-voice stereo chorus proving particularly adaptable across instruments. The rotary speaker emulation accurately models the Leslie effect's dual-rotor behavior, making it suitable for keyboards and guitars alike.
What unifies these modules is their restraint. PSP designed them for professionals who needed reliable, sonically neutral tools that wouldn't fight against source material. Within Voltage Modular's patching framework, they become far more flexible - you can modulate parameters with LFOs, sequencers, and envelope generators in ways the original plugins never permitted. This collection works best for engineers comfortable with modular synthesis fundamentals who want access to proven, high-quality effects algorithms without the learning curve.
