About this plugin
Bogren Digital's Krimh Drums is a Kontakt Player instrument that addresses a persistent challenge in metal production: making programmed drums sound like a genuine performance rather than a grid-locked sequence. The instrument samples the kit of Kerim Lechner, a technically proficient metal drummer who has worked with Behemoth, Decapitated, and Septicflesh, captured during sessions at Jens Bogren's Fascination Street Studios.
The core strength lies in its combination of multisampled drum articulations and algorithmic humanization. Rather than simply offering raw samples, Krimh Drums includes transient shaping, compression, EQ, and saturation processing modeled after vintage FET compressors and tape machines. These tools allow meaningful tonal shaping without resorting to external processing chains. The trigger sample feature provides additional layering control, enabling users to blend in custom one-shots or articulate performances with precision.

The included MIDI library of over 100 grooves and fills performed by Lechner himself serves a dual purpose: users can deploy patterns directly or use them as blueprints for their own arrangements. This saves composition time while maintaining stylistic authenticity within metal contexts.
Krimh Drums is particularly suited for producers working within metal subgenres who prioritize realistic drum textures without abandoning production efficiency. The preset work by Bogren demonstrates professional calibration, though the instrument's editing depth rewards producers willing to customize tone. In a saturated market of drum instruments and sample libraries, Krimh Drums distinguishes itself through the specific sonic signature of a working professional drummer and the quality of the mastering environment in which it was recorded.
