About this plugin
Eloy Drums is a comprehensive drum sample library and instrument plugin developed by Bogren Digital in collaboration with Sepultura and Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande. The collection captures two distinct sonic territories across dual kits recorded in Fascination Street Studios, a custom-built room engineered to Jens Bogren's specifications with 7-meter ceilings and non-parallel surfaces that eliminate typical room coloration.
The Casagrande kit emphasizes aggressive, large-format sound design inspired by Casagrande's work in Slipknot, featuring a full Tama Starclassic Bubinga setup with 5 toms, extensive Paiste cymbal selection including a 40-inch symphonic gong, and dual kick tunings. The Casagroove kit strips back to essentials, drawing from Casagrande's Brazilian roots and Sepultura years, with Pearl and DW shells, 4 toms, and a more compact cymbal complement. Both kits provide 6 snare options each, totaling 12 distinct snare voices across the library.

Bogren Digital's proprietary Anti-Machinegun feature intelligently varies fast consecutive hits, addressing a persistent challenge in sample-based drums where rapid patterns can sound unnaturally mechanical. This represents a practical solution for session work requiring natural feel without excessive manual programming.
The plugin suits metal and rock producers seeking professionally recorded, character-driven drums with genuine playing dynamics. The dual-kit approach provides working flexibility between maximalist and minimalist approaches within a single purchase. While competitive libraries exist, the specific sonic signature here - shaped by both Casagrande's dynamic playing and Bogren's meticulous room design - delivers a distinctive palette for modern heavy music production.
