About this plugin
IHNY-2 is Baby Audio's evolution of their breakthrough parallel compressor, designed specifically to add aggressive punch and presence to individual tracks and buses. The plugin works by splitting incoming audio into dry and wet paths internally, eliminating the need for manual parallel compression routing in your DAW. The wet signal receives heavy compression while the dry signal passes through untouched, and you blend between them using an intuitive XY pad interface. The horizontal axis controls compression intensity while the vertical axis balances the dry/wet mix, allowing you to dial in parallel compression with minimal fuss.
The sonic character is decidedly modern and forward-facing. This isn't a subtle enhancement tool. IHNY-2 is purpose-built for adding density and attack to drums, vocal chains, bass, and mix buses where conventional serial compression might sacrifice too much dynamic range. The internal autogain algorithm maintains consistent output levels as you move through the parameter space, though manual gain staging remains available for users who want precise control.

The plugin suits engineers and producers who value workflow efficiency alongside sonic aggression. It's particularly effective on source material that benefits from controlled loudness without losing transient definition. While parallel compression techniques have existed for decades, IHNY-2's self-contained approach removes technical friction from the process, making it accessible to both experienced sound designers and those new to parallel processing techniques.
As a refined second iteration of a Sound on Sound Award-winning original, IHNY-2 represents a mature tool in Baby Audio's catalog, delivering genuine sonic utility rather than novelty.
