About this plugin
Ample Bass Yinyang brings studio-quality bass synthesis to producers and engineers working across genre boundaries. Built on samples from a Fodera Yinyang 5-string, this instrument captures the instrument's characteristic warmth and articulation through 13 deeply sampled playing techniques including slap, pop, hammer-on, and tap articulations. The polyphonic legato engine handles smooth transitions between notes with authentic string behavior, while drop tuning support extends the low end down to B0 for contemporary production demands.
The plugin's composition tools merit particular attention. Riffer 4 combines a piano roll with tablature view and string-aware MIDI programming, allowing bass players to work intuitively while giving keyboard players access to realistic fingering positions. The Tab Reader 4 imports articulation and fingering data directly from Guitar Pro files, significantly streamlining workflow for musicians accustomed to traditional notation. A newly designed chord system accommodates non-strumming instruments more naturally than conventional implementations.

Sonically, Ample Bass Yinyang avoids the sterile character common in earlier virtual bass instruments. The amp simulation offers three classic heads paired with variable cabinet and microphone models, while the effects section - featuring an 8-band EQ, compressor, delay, and convolution reverb - provides comprehensive tone shaping without sounding clinical. The 5.1 GB sample library includes both DI and microphone recordings, granting tonal flexibility from direct, aggressive textures to roomy, organic sounds.
This instrument addresses a genuine gap in the market for engineers seeking authentic bass textures without committing recording time to live players. It performs reliably across jazz fusion, funk, cinematic scoring, and contemporary pop production.
