About this plugin
Ample Bass P is a sampled Fender Precision Bass virtual instrument built on Ample Sound's mature sampling methodology and equipped with practical production tools. The plugin captures the iconic Precision tone through 3.6 GB of recorded samples across 13 articulations, including standard picked and fingered notes, slap, pop, harmonics, and muted techniques. The legato engine handles polyphonic lines and slides with convincing pitch transitions, and drop tuning extends range down to B0 for modern production needs.
What distinguishes Ample Bass P from competing bass instruments is its integrated workflow. Riffer 4 functions as a capable MIDI editor with piano roll and tablature views, string-aware editing, and Tab Reader 4 integration for direct Guitar Pro file import. Rather than forcing workarounds with key switches, the plugin handles technique and expression through intuitive CC and velocity mapping, reducing friction during composition and arrangement.

The bundled amp and effects chain - three amp heads, four cabinets, multiple mic types, plus EQ, compression, delay, and reverb - provides legitimate tonal shaping without requiring external processing. This self-contained approach appeals to producers working across rock, funk, soul, and pop contexts where authentic bass character matters.
Ample Bass P occupies practical middle ground: deeper sampling than many competitors, less CPU-intensive than some alternatives, and more workflow-conscious than basic sample playback. It's best suited for producers prioritizing efficiency over absolute customization, and for those who benefit from built-in MIDI tools rather than external sequencers. The straight-ahead sonic character reflects actual Precision Bass behavior rather than attempting sonic transformation.
