About this plugin
AIR Music Technology's Instrument Expansion Pack 3 SELECT represents a refined collection of virtual instruments designed for producers working across electronic, cinematic, and commercial music contexts. The bundle centers on AIR's synthesis architecture, which emphasizes immediate sonic utility without sacrificing deeper customization for advanced users.
The standout component, The Riser, addresses a specific production need: constructing dynamic transitions with granular control. Built around three oscillators paired with 23 filter types and three LFO modes including tempo sync, the instrument provides a structured approach to designing swells, sweeps, and frequency-modulated movement. The 300 included presets function as both starting points and educational references, revealing how AIR's synthesis topology handles common transition tasks. The randomizer and invert function encourage experimentation within intentional constraints rather than endless parameter tweaking.

The pack's broader instrument selection inherits AIR's philosophy of combining vintage emulation sensibilities with modern workflow demands. Rather than chasing exhaustive feature sets, each tool prioritizes intuitive control and reliable sonic results across production scenarios.
This collection suits producers who value efficiency without oversimplification, particularly those working in electronic music production, film scoring, and remix contexts where transition design and textural variation drive compositional momentum. Compared to more comprehensive synthesizer suites, the SELECT package trades breadth for focused sonic character and preset cohesion.
For established producers already invested in AIR's ecosystem, the expansion offers legitimate workflow advantages. For newcomers to the platform, it represents a competent entry point into AIR's synthesis philosophy without overwhelming decision-making during the critical early exploration phase.
